About Us

The Florida Society of Goldsmiths is a non-profit, educational organization with chapters throughout the state of Florida, as well as an At-Large chapter for members from around the country and around the world. The organization is dedicated to providing classes and workshops, lectures, exhibits and other opportunities for members to learn and share their skills and interest in metal and jewelry arts.

The Florida Society of Goldsmiths is open to all. We welcome artists that work in all metals as well as other jewelry artists using other mediums. We strive to offer the best jewelry workshops from well-known instructors.   How to Join

Our Chapter, FSGNE, is powered by volunteers!

Our Facilities

Welcome to the Northeast chapter of the Florida Society of Goldsmiths. Visit our 1200 sq.ft. beautifully-equipped metal studio, located in the heart of historic DeLand. We offer classes for students of all levels, from beginner to advanced. Members enjoy discounted classes, access to open studio days, and a friendly community atmosphere.

Our studio offers our members access to almost everything they’ll need – rolling mills, kilns, hydraulic presses, torches, polishing wheels, hammers, files, pickle pots, books, etc. Bring your own metal, sawblades, and dremel attachments.

Open Studio

Members are invited to come & work on their own projects for the nominal charge of $5 per session. Use any of the studio’s equipment – rolling mills, kilns, hydraulic presses, torches etc. – as long as you are versed in proper use and safety. Volunteer Opportunities

Even if you’re not an experienced teacher, you still have great information, skills and experience to share with other members. We’d sure appreciate it — and best of all, you’ll feel good knowing you’ve helped or inspired another member.

We’re always interested in talking about class proposals with volunteers and paid instructors. You don’t have to be a member of FSG to volunteer or to be hired. If you have a proposal for a class, let’s discuss how to make it happen. Our mission is to provide educational opportunities to our members, and our goal is to do exactly that.

Keep in mind that there are no paid positions on our Chapter Board. We are all volunteers– arranging classes, answering your email and phone calls, keeping the books, cleaning the studio, maintaining the website, etc. We do it because we believe in the mission — and it’s fun to work together. Nothing great was ever accomplished without enthusiasm — Share your enthusiasm with us!
